Government of India invites NZ students for scholarships in India

The Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India, is offering scholarships under the Commonwealth Scholarship Plan (A1203) for the academic year 2019-20. There are two slots available for students from New Zealand for higher education in Indian Universities and colleges.
Interested applicants can register themselves on www.a2ascholarships.icer.gov.in and get a login ID and password to fill up the form for various courses.
The portal includes all the relevant information available for students abroad including names and details of all States and Central universities and institutes, colleges affiliated with them, information like availability of various academic courses, guidelines, eligibility criteria, hostels, etc. The scholarship does not cover admission in Medical/Paramedical (Nursing/Physiotherapy/Anesthesia), fashion courses.
The applicants have to note that for science courses, the cost of the laboratory chemicals and other associated occasional charges will be borne by the scholars themselves.
These scholarship slots include return economy class and Third AC train fare to the place of study, if so required.
The applicants are also advised to exercise due diligence and research on the specific admission criteria laid down by various universities for each subject and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the universities in addition to the certificates mentioned in the application form. For this, they may refer to the universities Handbook/University Grants Commission’s website and the concerned institute's website for eligibility criteria.

However, the applicants need to note some of these points:
-Applicants are essentially 18 years of age at the time of admission in Indian universities/institutes and not more than 30 years of age.
-Only applicants who are proficient in the English language can apply for this scholarship
-All selected students will have to stay in hostels. No exception for any reason will be accepted. -Submit the medical fitness certificate
-Applications will only be accepted the online through the online portal
