Amit Kumar show tickets selling well

April 17 2010
Tickets to the Amit Kumar extravaganza next month are “selling like hot cakes”, show organizer Gopal Bhatia said.
Amit Kumar, son of the legend Kishore Kumar, will be in Auckland for a one-off performance at the Logan Campbell Centre in Greenlane on May 1.
Bhatia said since the show was first announced in Auckland, ticket sales had been steady, but sales have stepped up dramatically as the date draws closer.
“It’s selling very well, like hot cakes. People need to get in quick now if they want tickets.”
Amitji’s how is titled “Yeh Zameen Ga Rahi” – the feature song of the hit 1980s movie Teri Kasam, starring Kumar Gaurav. This, and another Kumar Gaurav starrer, Love Story, were mainly responsible for cementing Amit Kumar as a leading playback singer in his own right.
The show is a tribute to his father Kishore Kumar, and also to legendary music director and composer RD Burman.
Gopal Bhatia, who will also be performing alongside Amit Kumar, can be contacted on 09 624 6330, for more information.
