“SUNEHRE SAPNE”
In the timeless conflict between our dreams and our realities love is the only resolution...
Sunhere Sapne is a romantic story revolving around the dreams and aspirations of a hardworking young man, set in a typical Mumbai chawl.
Working as a motor mechanic, he is frustrated by his lower middle class surroundings and aspires to travel overseas and live a life away from social and financial drudgery. A traumatic childhood and disjointed youth filled with struggle, haunt him as he has seen his fair share of sorrows, early on in life.
He wishes to break free from the shackles of an “undignified” profession, and escape to a paradise of social equality and freedom.
Desperately chasing this utopian ideology, he looses touch with reality, most importantly with love. His life becomes a shattered, lonely place until the woman he loves rescues him from his inevitable doom. He is blessed with the ultimate realisation that happiness and fulfilment are all around us, we just have to learn to find it together!
The play is directed by UjjalGhosh, who has been with Rangmanch since its inception- a committed theatre enthusiast, with an authentic vision and years of theatre experience who believes that every story has a message. Ujjal has been regular performer in all Rangmanch productions so far.
Jayanta Bhaduri a theatre veteran with awesome knowledge and experience of stage and theatre production, is the Secretary and one of the founder members of the group. He had been the director and the creative leader in all of Rangmanch’s plays till date, is now playing the role of a mentor to the younger talent that Rangmanch supports, bringing out the best in each performer through his guidance and love for theatre.
