M Kalyan, the lead violinist of celebrated Indian music composer A R Rahman, is to perform in Auckland.
The man known to play the “Singing Violin” has been a popular artiste in the film industry for over forty years. He has played and performed with most of the Indian music directors and composers ranging from Salil Chowdary, Bombay Ravi, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vidhyasagar, Vishal Bharadwaj, Bharadwaj, Dakshinamoorthy, Deva, Devan Ekambaram, G. Devarajan, G.K.Venkatesh, G.V. Prakash, Gangai Amaran, Hamsalekha, D. Imman, Johnson, Chakravarthy, Koti, Devi Sri Prasad, M.M. Kreem (Maragadhamani), M.S.V., Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja, Karthik, Mani Sharma, Shankar Ganesh, Sirpy, Harris Jayaraj, and A.R.RAHMAN and has also accompanied most of the music directors on their world tour concerts.
The violin concert is to be held on April 7 at the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall in Auckland.
