Mumbai: Popular television channel Imagine TV and DJ’s - A Creative Unit joined hands to present to the viewers the story of "every Indian housewife" titled ‘Dharampatni’.
This is a story of the unwavering love, strength and commitment that every Indian woman has towards her husband and her household, the makers said.
The show brings back two of the most sought after faces of the small screen – Aasiya Kazi and Harshad Chopra in the lead roles.
Aasiya Kazi will be seen making a comeback in a fresh avatar after her very successful stint as playing ‘Santo’ on Imagine’s super hit serial ‘Bandini’.
“The audiences loved me earlier as Santo and I hope that they will accept and support me as Kastur. A woman is the backbone of her family and the one who responsible for the success of her husband. No matter what the circumstances, it is she who fulfills her ‘pati-dharam’ with her heart and soul. Our show will reflect this very essence of a woman,” Aasiya Kazi said.
Harshad Chopra said, “I am very excited to be back on television with Dharampatni on Imagine. My character has very interesting shades to it. I hope that people will love me in my new avatar as Mohan and appreciate our work.”
Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming - Fiction, Imagine TV feels that the serial reflects the life of every woman and they will be able to identify with the characters of the show.

The serial will premiere Aug 16, 2011 and will be telecasted from Monday to Thursday at 9.30 p.m.
