Building dreams

Five-year-old Viraaj Amin won third prize in the Habitat for Humanity’s annual Build Challenge, which is sponsored by Lego and has entries from across the country
1. Why did you participate in Habitat for Humanity Build Challenge?
My Mum read about the Habitat for Humanity Build Challenge sponsored by Lego, and we thought it would be fun to take part in it, as I enjoy building and making things from Lego. It is my favourite thing to do. It was nice to build a house which people would find comfortable to live in, and be happy.
2. What did you have to do?
Build a house out of Lego bricks according to the rules by Habitat for Humanity's Build Challenge.
3. What does the title mean to you?
I was very happy that all my friends and family voted for my Build, which helped me to get the 3rd prize. I was super excited.
4. What was the most difficult thing you did for the Challenge?
I wanted to make sure the house had a fireplace like the one in my home, so that people who live in it would be warm in winter.
5. What is the best thing you learned from it?
I learned so many things from seeing other builds by children who also took part, and I got to know all about Habitat for Humanity.
6. Who is your hero/ best friend?
My Daddy is my best friend.
7. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a doctor like my grandparents.
