Mahesh Bindra, resident of Mt. Roskill, happens to be the face of the vibrant Kiwi Indian community within the NZ First fold. He largely represents the ethnic minority; in the Winston Peters lead political party, which is gaining popularity and momentum in the election year, as an alternative. 
 
Mahesh has extensive experience in Rehabilitation and Reintegration of offenders into the society and he firmly believes in sharp, short sentences as part of an enlightened Corrections policy.
 
Mr. Bindra, was born and raised in the city of Mumbai-India.  He went to Bombay University, studied Political Science and Psychology and gained a BA (Honours) degree.  He was also groomed for a commission in the Indian Army. Mahesh is passionate about Law and Order and Public Safety.
 
Mahesh is a staunch advocate for providing high quality education to our youth and his children are a fine example of the outcomes that can be achieved out of investing in our youth.  His son and twin daughters are successful professionals in their respective fields. 
 
Mahesh has travelled extensively and takes keen interest in the political systems, cultures, ethnicities and values of other countries.  He has a deep understanding of the issues faced by the South Asian communities in New Zealand and he keeps connected with the communities through various organisations that he is a member and a strong supporter of.  
 
He has contributed vastly towards Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust, Hindi Language and Culture Trust of New Zealand and Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).
