'Ghar Pardes' DVD out soon

April 18 2010
A movie made in Fiji and Australia last year is now preparing for its worldwide release on DVD next month.
Ghar Pardes (Home Abroad), shot in Melbourne and Fiji, has been made by Australian filmmaker Vimal Reddy, who was also the man behind the earlier release from Fiji – Adhura Sapna.
Reddy’s latest offering, which is a story about a migrant family settling in to a culture clash, has played to good reviews in theatres in Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada.
“It was well received,” Reddy told the Indian Weekender.
“The response from the public was quite good – not one bad comment.”
Reddy said the announcement of the DVD release had generated much excitement and a lot of people had made enquiries about it.
“Many people had missed it on the big screen, but they don’t have long to wait now,”
Reddy, originally from Fiji, said they were targeting a release date of May 28 worldwide, with a fully fledged release throughout June.
Ghar Pardes, produced, directed and written by Reddy, stars Praneel Rajoria, Pritash Dutt, Vijay Kumaran and Anila Kumar in the lead roles.
The Ghar Pardes DVD will be distributed in New Zealand by Anand Reddy, who can be contacted on 09 271 0292 or 021 281 4500.
