3 idiots, Big B, Vidya win at Filmfare

Mumbai: 3 Idiots predictably swept the 55th Filmfare Awards winning honours for best film and director while Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan bagged the best male and female actor trophies respectively for Paa at the glittering ceremony Saturday night.
The show was glittering as host Shahrukh Khan (who again teamed up with Saif Ali this year to liven up the show with smart scandalous oneliners) tweeted after the big night: “Now off to bed. Vidya Balan looked ravishing..Bipasha towering...Deepika lovely & Katrina awesome. Missed Kareena...”

Best Film: Vidhu Vinod Chopra for 3 Idiots
Best Director: Rajkumar Hirani for 3 Idiots
Best Actor in Leading Role (Male): Amitabh Bachchan for Paa
Best Actor in Leading Role (Female): Vidya Balan for Paa
The Best Supporting Actor (Male) award went to Boman Irani for 3 Idiots while the Best Supporting Actor (Female) was bagged by Kalki Koechlin for Dev D.
Ayan Mukherjee was the Best Debutante Director (Male) for Wake Up Sid while the
Best Debutante Director (Female) was Zoya Akhtar for Luck By Chance.

The Filmfare Critics Award was bagged by Nandita Das for her film Firaaq.
In this category the Best Actor (Female) was Mahi Gill (Dev D) and Ranbir Kapoor for his consistent performance in 2009.
Actor Shashi Kapoor and music maestro Khayyam were conferred the Lifetime Achievement Awards. While Shashi was presented the trophy by Shabana Azmi and Yash Chopra and Asha Bhosle presented the trophy to Khayyam.
