Bollywood film director Prakash Jha has denied that the role played by Katrina Kaif in his new movie “Rajneeti” was based on India’s ruling Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi's political career.
“It (Katrina's character) has nothing to do with either the life or political career of Sonia Gandhi,” Jha said in Jamshedpur where the film is being shot.
There have been media reports that the movie was based on the life and career of Italian-born Sonia Gandhi and that the character played by Katrina bears an uncanny resemblance to her.
Once voted as India’s sexiest women alive, Kaif is now said to play the role of “a bahenji” in the move – bearing an uncanny resemblance to Sonia Gandhi.
The movie also stars Ajay Devgan, Arjun Ramphal, Ranbir Kapoor and Nana Patekar.
The film is written and directed by Jha.
