Priyanka’s encounter with spooky animals

The script and direction of Ram Gopal Varma’s Agyaat sure sent chills down the spines of the actors working in the film but little did they know that acting in the film would also mean being spooked in real life. The heroine of the film, Priyanka Kothari for one has sordid tales to tell about her terrifying experiences. According to Priyanka, the film was shot in the Sigiriya jungles of Sri Lanka and the unit was put up at a hotel near the jungle. She recalls having one encounter too many with the animals and the creepiest. “At any time you could expect a monkey staring at you from the balcony and ready to snatch your breakfast. Or then there was a snake passing by on the balcony rod.” As if that was not enough, one morning she woke up to find six lizards crawling on the ceiling. When she ran to the reception to ask for a better room, she was shocked when the receptionist told her that she was given the best room in the hotel!

Tanu gets sinful

Tanushree Dutta, who has been admired for her beauty, grace and her charming personality, has now acquired a great toned body to complement her newly acquired hairstyle. Tanu’s dietary regime consists of loads of vegetable and fruits, lean proteins and healthy snacks. However, one thing she finds irresistible are the chocolate cookies, which she continues to binge on irrespective of the consequences. Says the Bong beauty, “I have a major weakness for those sinful cookies and I feel that no food needs to be totally cut out in a healthy diet if there is moderation and balance. Following a disciplined routine and doing good workouts are essential and that helps you burn all the excess calories. This way, I am able to maintain a fit figure and yet indulge in sin and would love to encourage all the people out there to follow the same.”

Abhay can be of great help behind the scenes  too

An interesting facet of Abhay Deol's personality has come to the fore at the time when Dev D is celebrating more than 100 days at theatres across the country. Abhay is not just a good actor, who has a flair for selecting the best scripts, few people are aware that he is also an able cartoonist. Recently director Anurag Kashyap spilled the beans when he revealed this aspect of Abhay’s personality. ''Abhay draws really well and is excellent when it comes to story boarding. Not just a good cartoonist; he is also very clear about the words-to-visuals translation on paper,” revealed Anurag who has been Abhay's friend for some time now. Anurag discovered this when Abhay first started helping him out while he was making Black Friday. ''Abhay was a very good help in the story boarding of Black Friday. He also drew down the details around the blast sequences on paper, which really helped us during the shoot,'' he says. Well, we must say that there are many other directors out there who are still unfamiliar with storyboards and would love to take a tip or two from Abhay.

Has Nandana given her nod for a showstopper act at fashion show?

It appears that actress Nandana Sen has changed her stance about exposure and skin show. At least that is what the rumour mills indicate. The news goes that Nandana who had put her foot down for doing any bold scenes after her controversial nude scene in Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya, has now given her nod to Bollywood fashion designer, Umair Zafar. Zafar has reportedly approached Nandana to be a part of a mega fashion event next month where she will be seen wearing a hot and oh-so-sexy outfit that is expected to create ripples in the fashion world. Nandana herself acknowledged that she had been talking to Zafar, but had not yet worked out the concept and outfits for the event. It may be recalled that Nandana had recently turned out several prestigious offers including one by Italian filmmaker Italo Spinelli. Spinelli was keen on casting Nandana in his film for the lead role of a tribal woman who is surreptitiously shot nude by a photographer.

Mehul Kumar shoots peppy item number for Krantiveer

Director Mehul Kumar shot a peppy item song for White city Entertainment’s Krantiveer – The Revolution, the sequel to the Mega-blockbuster Krantiveer of 1994. The song is sung by Mika and Hard Kaur and is picturised on lead actress Jahan Bloch along with Aditya Singh Rajput and more than 40 dancers. It was shot at Cinevista, and choreographed by Chinni Prakash. Mehul Kumar is launching his daughter Jahan, who plays the daughter of the fiery Nana Patekar in the original Krantiveer.

Post Paying Guests, Shreyas Talpade resumes his workouts

Most directors usually make the actors work out and build good muscles for their film. However, for Shreyas Talpade, it was the other way round in Paying Guests. His director Paritosh Painter forbade him from any kind of workout until the shooting of the film was over, the reason being that Shreyas was playing a girl in the film and muscles on a girl would look as weird as, say, lipstick on a guy. Not only that but Paritosh also asked Shreyas to give up any kind of dieting that would reflect on his body on screen. Shreyas, being a director's obedient actor did not protest obviously, because he knew it would benefit the film. Now that the film has been released and Shreyas’ role got its due, he is finally free to pursue his workouts. This time he will really have to work hard to get into his original form.
