Ritviz to perform in the city of sails

Aucklanders are in for a musical treat later this month as Indian music sensation Ritviz will be performing in the city later this month.
Only a few Indian artists have experienced the meteoric rise to fame that 26-year-old Ritviz Srivastava has, and even fewer have sustained that popularity.
Ritviz is all set to enthral Aucklanders with his live performance on February 26 at Neck Of The Woods in Auckland CBD.
Ritviz, who will perform in New Zealand for the first time, is excited about the same.
He said, “ I look forward to entertaining Aucklanders with my music. Hoping to have a great time and see happy faces.”
This performance is part of his Australia and NZ tour.
The Madrassi Factory, a relatively new live entertainment production house in NZ, is the local NZ Partner of the tour, which is being presented by event management company Blaide.Live.
Talking about the event, Raisa Infreda, the director of The Madrassi Factory, said, "We want Aucklanders to take back good experiences with them. Hoping for a houseful show and people enjoying Ritviz’s magic. Through the Madrassi Factory, we want more and more artists from India to come to NZ and entertain New Zealanders."
The classically-trained musician-turned-bedroom-producer shot to fame in December 2017 with a runaway hit, ‘Udd Gaye, through a talent hunt for musicians, 2017 Bacardi House Party Sessions – hosted by comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) and desi bass icon Nucleya.
An effortless blend of elements of Indian traditional music, hip-hop and electronica, ‘Udd Gaye quickly became everyone's favourite party anthem and was one of the biggest hits in 2018 – quickly propelling Ritviz to headliner status at music festivals.
Subsequent releases like ‘Sage’, ‘Liggi’, and ‘Jeet’ proved that ‘Udd Gaye was no fluke in the pan. Known for his unique style of music, which blends elements of Indian classical music, folk, and rock, and his songs often feature socially conscious lyrics, he has released several albums and is considered one of the leading artists in the Indian independent music scene.
He is currently the highest-ranked Indian indie artist on Spotify nationally and the second-highest globally. He has garnered 1.5 billion streams across all audio and video platforms, one of the highest in the Indian indie space. His tracks
‘Sage’ and ‘Thandi Hawa’ were incorporated in Marvel & Disney’s newest teenage superhero series ‘Ms Marvel’ while his original composition ‘Aavegi’ was featured in the show's finale episode.
Having released four record-breaking EPs, worked alongside heavyweights like Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, Major Lazer and LAUV and launched his music and comedy festival called YUV Fest, very few people would have foreseen the meteoric rise in fame that would follow for a boy from Darbhanga, who had decided at the age of five years to make music the core of his universe.
