Renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passes away

Well known Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, fondly known as Masterji, passed away at a Mumbai's Hospital due to cardiac arrest. She was 72. 

Saroj Khan had choreographed more than 2000 songs in her forty years career in the Indian film industry.   She had started her career as a child artist at the age of three and then went on to work as a background dancer in the late 50s. She trained under film choreographer B. Sohanlal and then started independent choreography career with  Geeta Mera Naam. Some of her work with Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been well celebrated over the years and that soon made her one of the busiest and most sought-after Bollywood choreographers.

Some of her popular songs are Dhak Dhak Karne Laga Dola Re Dola, Tamma Tamma, Hawa Hawai and many more.

Saroj Khan was admitted to Mumbai’s Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra last month after developing a breathing issue. The 71-year-old choreographer had to undergo a COVID-19 test but had reportedly tested negative. She died at 1.52 AM on Friday.
