‘Super-girl’ Mrunal Thakur--after romancing Hrithik Roshan , now plays John Abraham’s wife.

Effervescent, charismatic, focused yet outspoken actress Mrunal Thakur is almost an overnight super-sensation.  That’s because Mrunal who was romantically cast opposite the Greek God of  Bollywood --Hrithik Roshan in the recent mega-hit ‘Super 30’ movie is poised for her next big-time outing.

She will now be seen as the charming wife of the rugged hunk John Abraham in action-thriller ‘Batla House’, which releases on ( I-Day ) August 15th. An incredible achievement for a former TV actress who was previously seen as ‘Bulbul’ in Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and then made her perfect movie-debut with an international maverick flick ‘Love Sonia’.

For someone who has no filmy lineage connections and had originally qualified to get into hard-core journalism, she finds her star-trek  “too surreal”.  On her birthday  (on Aug 1st), Hrithik took to Instagram and having wished her he goes, “You are a very special actor. And it has been a joy to have worked with you in ‘Super 30’. Keep shining as you do”.  Not surprisingly, Mrunal is a huge fan of  “down-to-earth and dedicated” Hrithik as well as her current hero “jolly prankster”  John Abraham, who in turn considers her a  “fantastic actress”.

Shares Thakur,  “Interestingly, my exposure to practice journalism as a media course student came to my rescue when in ‘Batla House’ I was finalized for the role of the gritty-TV anchor journalist wife of the real-life super-cop reprised on-screen by my co-star Abraham,” smiles Mrunal who is a  trained Kathak danseuse.

Quiz her on what made her accept anti-terrorist cops encounter action drama, she justifies. “When you watch ‘Batla House’, you will realize that there is also a  breezy engaging personal back-story and an endearing love story that further leads to a marital crisis between my husband and me.

On the day, my hubby leaves for his dangerous encounter mission, we are on the verge of ‘splitting’ as I feel, that as a duty-bound cop he is married to the country. It’s a realistic slice-of-life with  elements of creative liberty like the character of dancer Nora Fatehi,”,  insists Mrunal who has now bagged her next  assignment of playing  the iconic Queen  ‘Sivagami’ in the upcoming  Netflix original web-series titled ‘Baahubali: Before the Beginning’
