Australian cult leader may be in Fiji

SUVA: Fiji’s Immigration Department is looking into a report from Australian police that the leader of an Adelaide doomsday cult may have fled to Fiji.

Director Immigration Major Nemani Vuniwaqa confirmed receiving the information on Rocco Leo.

“We are trying to verify when and how he got into the country,” Mr Vuniwaqa told FijiLive. “I have already assigned a team to conduct the investigations as we were not aware about him being in the country,” he added.

Leo, also known as ‘Brother Rock’, has been on the run after police raids uncovered ammunition and explosives hidden in shipping containers.

Australian authorities are also investigating claims that girls as young as six who were part of his group were pledged to middle-aged men for future marriage.

Leo reportedly convinced cult members the entire Australian population would be implanted with mind-controlling microchips.
