Amidst the chaos and cannibalising of "left-wing" votes, precipitated by Jacinda Mania, the good news for the Kiwi-Indian community is that the upsurge in Labour votes will ensure that their representative Priyanca Radhakrishnan is all set to enter parliament.
The Newshub-Reid Research polls, out tonight have signalled a dramatic resurgence of the Labour's fortune from a poorly 23.3 per cent to a robust 33 per cent.
Although, this does not envisage a successful and a clinical change of the government, what it ensures is a certainty of another kiwi-Indian MP in the parliament, with Priyanca Radhakrishnan being placed at Eleventh ranking in the Labour Party List.
Two weeks ago, this was appearing to be a challenging possibility, purely on the basis of List and the numbers labour was polling.
In fact, Winston Peters has made the audacious statement claiming that the then Labour Leader Andrew Little, who is placed much higher than Priyanca would even struggle to enter the parliament.
That statement, howsoever bombastic, was emblematic of the dire situation that the Labour Party had found themselves in.
Since then, Party's fortune had taken a dramatic turnaround with Jacinda Ardern's elevation as the new Leader.
A resurgent in the Party's votes was largely expected and was also expected to poach on "left-wing" voters, which have drifted further left towards the Green Party.
Experts were not expecting much damage on the National Party votes and it had remained 44.8 percent, taking a marginal dip of 0.8 per cent
The Green Party had taken the biggest hit of about 4 per cent bring them down to 9 per cent.
Winston Peters also had taken a dip, however continuing to retain his unchallenged kingmaker position.
