Urged Advani to change decision: Modi

New Delhi/Ahmedabad, June 10 (IBNS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narnedra Modi on Monday said he called Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch LK Advani, who resigned from all positions in the party, and urged him to change his decision.
"Had a detailed conversation with Advani ji on phone. Urged him to change his decision. I hope he will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas," Modi tweeted on Monday.
In a major blow to the BJP, Advani resigned from all positions in the party and said most leaders 'are now concerned just with their personal agendas'.
BJP president Rajnath Singh, however, rejected his resignation.
Advani took the decision a day after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was made the chief of the election campaign committee of the BJP for the 2014 general elections.
Despite opposition from a section of veterans including Advani, Modi was appointed as the BJP central election committee chief during the party's National Executive meeting in Goa on Sunday.
Advani resigned from all party posts - the National Executive, the Parliamentary Board, and the Election Committee.
