NEW DELHI: Bollywood diva Rekha took oath as a Rajya Sabha member on today, Tuesday, May 15.
The enigmatic Hindi cinema icon, now 57, read out her oath and also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
According to reports, Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will take oath on May 16.
President Pratibha Patil approved the names of actor Rekha and cricket icon Tendulkar for nominated seats in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
Both Rekha and Tendulkar accepted their nominations.
