Carla Bruni can’t wait to see Taj

Bangalore: While French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Saturday was voicing his support to India’s demand for a permanent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) seat, his ex-supermodel wife Carla Bruni seemed busy making plans for their trip to the Taj Mahal.
 
Asked on her visit to the Taj, Bruni said: “Very much looking forward to it (visiting Taj).” 
 
Already the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has tagged off Sarkozy-Bruni’s Taj visit as a private one. The ministry has also issued an advisory to restrict media from covering their visit.
 
Sarkozy, accompanied by Bruni and large team of officials and business people, arrived India on Saturday on a four-day visit to discuss matters of counter-terrorism, technological collaborations among other affairs.
 
His first stop in India was Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bangalore, where he saw the Indo-French Megha-Tropiques Satellite being jointly developed by ISRO and CNES, the French counterpart of ISRO.
 
Later in the day, he is expected to leave on a private visit for Agra.
 
On Sunday, Sarkozy and Bruni would visit the Taj Mahal as well as Fatehpur Sikhri and then arrive at New Delhi in the evening.
 
In New Delhi, he would have a restricted meeting with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who would also be hosting a private dinner in the honour of the visiting dignitaries.
 
On Dec 6, there will be delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House followed by signing of agreements and a Joint Press Conference.
 
President Sarkozy would also be meeting with the President Pratibha Patil.
 
On Dec 7, he would leave for Mumbai where he would be visiting the Police Memorial honouring the victims of the 26/11 terrorist attack.
