New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Vice President Hamid Ansari on Saturday greeted the nation on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birthday to be celebrated on Sunday.
Patil in a message said, “On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, I convey my heartiest greetings to all my fellow citizens.
May the great Guru’s teachings of peace, harmony and compassion guide us to follow them in our daily lives.”
In his message, Singh said that Guru Nanakji’s life and message of brotherhood and equality of man remains relevant today.
The Prime Minister said that by following the teachings of Guru Nanakji, the world can overcome differences and work together to fight ignorance, poverty , hunger and disease.
Ansari said that Guru Nanak Devji has been apostle of universal love, piety and spiritual faith. His divine teachings guide us on the path of social harmony and unity.
“I convey my greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the holy and auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak’s Birthday.
