Two injured, one critical, in Waikato crash
Two people have been injured — one critically — and a section of a state highway has been closed following a crash in the Waikato region on Sunday morning.Reported By 1News.
Police said the two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ōhaupō Rd and Ryburn Rd, south of Hamilton, and was reported at about 9.15am.
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene. St John confirmed that three ambulances and a rapid response unit were deployed.
"Two patients, one in critical condition and one in serious condition, are being transported to Waikato Hospital," a St John spokesperson said.
Motorists have been advised to expect delays while emergency crews work at the crash site. Diversions have been put in place around the affected section of road as investigations and recovery operations continue.
