Two people have died in a house fire in the Auckland suburb of Hillpark and a third has been seriously injured.
Hato Hone St John said one patient was transported to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
Fire and Emergency said it received reports of a well-involved house fire in Freshney Place shortly before 7am.

A spokesperson said five crews and one command unit were on the scene, and the fire was still burning.
Around 20 firefighters are at the scene.
The wooden two-storey home's windows have broken due to the force of the fire.

Police and St John are also attending.
Three ambulances and a rapid response vehicle went to the scene.
Police have asked drivers to avoid the area.
The road has been blocked off from traffic.
