Kiwi-Indian man dies in road accident in Christchurch

New Zealand police have confirmed that the person who died on Monday (January 17) morning at 7.20 is was Kiwi-Indian Sikander Pal Singh.
“Police can confirm the man who died in a road crash yesterday morning in Rolleston was Sikander Pal Singh, an Indian national.
“Police’s thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and love ones,” a press release from Police said.
Earlier it was reported on Monday that a man was killed in a crash between two trucks just south of Christchurch in a crash between a light truck and another truck at the intersection of Main South Rd (State Highway 1) and Rolleston Drive.
Singh, an Indian national, died at the scene of the crash, while the occupant of the other truck had moderate injuries.
"Police will be making enquiries in relation to the death on behalf of the Coroner, who will release their finding in due course."
The Indian Weekender has reached out to the offices of the Consulate of India and the High Commission of Indian (Wellington) to get more information about the unfortunate death in the community.
