The Bihar and Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand has grown over the years with more members being a part of the community organisation. The organisation represents the members of the community who hail from the states of Bihar and Jharkhand in India and host several events and festivals at different intervals of the year commemorating important days for the community.

The Bihar and Jharkhand Sabha’s Auckland wing has elected a new team to lead the organisation and to look after its affairs for the upcoming year.

This was done through an informal dinner event ‘Sharad Milan 2019’ organised by the community members on Sunday, June 30 at India Gate restaurant in Epsom.

Nisheeth Prakash will lead the new team as the president of BJSANZ, Akanksha Singh as vice president, Ronnie Singh as Cultural Secretary, Rani Singh as Secretary Public Relations and Sanjay Pandey as the Treasurer.

“As Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher once said, “Change is the only constant in life and so, here we are introducing our new office bearers for BJANZ Auckland Chapter 2019-2021,” a representative from BJSANZ, Auckland Wing said.

“I would like to thank all outgoing office bearers for their valuable contribution and support over the past two years and thank you, Mr Birendra, Rajnish and Rakesh- it was a pleasure working with you all,” the Facebook page of the association read.

BJSANZ Auckland Wing celebrated Chhat Puja, Diwali Mahotsav, Holi, other smaller festivals and participated in the Republic and Independence Day celebrated in Auckland.
