The High Commission of India in New Zealand on Wednesday, April 10 announced that its Consulate Office in Auckland can now issue Liquor Permits to Gujarat.

Liquor Permits are issued to foreigners intending to visit Gujarat so that they can purchase liquor from authorised shops there. The permits are granted to those who hold valid Regular Indian Visa or OCI Card and are above 25 years of age.

The procedure for obtaining the Liquor Permit for Gujarat is that the applicants need to complete the Liquor Permit form that can be downloaded from the High Commission of India website (mentioned at the bottom) and submit it to either High Commission of India office in Wellington or Consulate of India office in Auckland along with the original passport having Regular Indian Visa or original OCI.

Issuance of Liquor Permit is a free service provided by the High Commission of India, and no fee is required to be paid for it.
