September 30 2020
Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala says workers who will be employed during the public holiday on Saturday, 10 October are required to be remunerated accordingly in accordance with the minimum terms and conditions of the relevant wages regulations.
Bala says the Fiji Day public holiday was gazetted for Saturday, 10th October as provided for under the Employment Relations (Administration) Regulations 2008.
Bala has highlighted this after the Ministry received increased number of queries regarding the issue.
He further says Monday, 12 October is not a public holiday.
