Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Australians are thinking of their Fijian family too and will be there for them.

In a tweet directed to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, Morrison said it was good to chat today about the shared challenge of COVID-19, the economic impact and cooperation on a vaccine.

Morrison said he looks forward to meeting with Bainimarama soon.

Bainimarama says as the world grapples with the most severe health crisis of the century, Fijian hearts ache with a new closeness as they watch Australians and New Zealanders contend with new outbreaks of COVID-19.

He says his prayers and the prayers of all Fijians, are with our Australian and New Zealand sisters and brothers as they face this challenging chapter.

Bainimarama says may we find strength in solidarity, and solace in science, as we look ahead.
