The manufacturer and exporter of Shraddha Ghee, SDP Industries Pvt Ltd, has assured its New Zealand customers that regulatory action taken against the company in India relates to its domestic market in India and does not affect export consignments sent to New Zealand.

“The Shraddha Ghee shipped to New Zealand is produced and released as dedicated export consignments,” the company said in a statement, seeking to address concerns among overseas buyers.

SDP Industries Pvt Ltd said each export batch is laboratory-tested before dispatch against applicable ghee standards, “in line with FSSAI and EIA requirements, and the results are documented.”

The company said every export consignment is also backed by a health certificate issued by the Export Inspection Agency (EIA), the competent authority for Indian food exports.

“In short, the product on overseas shelves carries its own analysis and its own clearance, independent of the domestic proceeding,” the statement said.

The clarification follows regulatory action in India against Ringawada, Daman-based SDP Industries Pvt Ltd.

According to FSSAI order and a Press Information Bureau release, the company was directed to stop selling ghee variants from its authorised premises in Ringanwada, Daman, over alleged non-compliance and adulteration concerns.

“We are handling the matter with the utmost care and through the proper legal channels, with the relevant submissions and supporting documentation already placed before the authority,” the statement said.

“The process is ongoing, and we are expecting to resolve this matter in the coming days.”

SDP Industries Pvt Ltd said it believed consumer confidence should be supported by evidence and, to avoid further confusion, it was willing to provide “ EIA health certificates and consignment records to any distributor, retailer, importer or authority that requests them.”

The company said that, based on the independent testing and export certification, its overseas partners could continue stocking and selling the product, with exported consignments supported by laboratory testing and official export certification.

“SDP Industries values the trust built with its overseas partners over many years and intends to keep earning it,” the statement said.
