Idols of Lord Ram and Sita made especially for the Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha celebrations in New Zealand have arrived in Auckland and will be up for darshan on Sunday morning.

The special idols, two-feet-tall and made from pure white marble, will be up for viewing at Bharatiya Mandir in Balmoral starting 11.30am.

“A ‘vastra grahan’ ceremony of the idols will kick off the celebrations, and then priests will perform a puja. The idols will then be carried in a procession by road to Eden Park, where a grand ceremony has been planned to continue till the evening.

“A special holy ‘akshat kalash’ has also arrived all the way from Ayodhya. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for devotees in NZ to pay their respects and seek blessings,” says an organiser.

If you are keen on participating, you can join the celebrations starting 11.30am at Bharatiya Mandir by 11.30am and be a part of the celebrations and ‘shobha yatra’, which will take the idols and the sacred akshit kalash from the temple to Eden Park for darshan.

The High Commissioner of India, Neeta Bhushan, is scheduled to accompany the idols from the temple to Eden Park.

On January 22, the idols are scheduled to be open for public darshan in Wellington and finally installed at Gita Mandir in the national capital.
