Emergency services responded to a water-related incident near Wainui on Saturday after a person was pulled from the water near Cape Three Points around midday.

According to a report by 1News, Police said they were notified of the incident, while St John confirmed it sent a first response unit, a PRIME responder and a helicopter to the scene near Bossu Rd, shortly before midday.

Cape Three Points is a rocky headland and small island group at the southern end of Wainui Bay in Akaroa Harbour, on Banks Peninsula, 1News has reported.
