A homicide investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a home in Edgeware's Christchurch.
Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Baillie said police were called to Purchas St just before 6am on Wednesday.
A woman was found dead, he said, and a second person at the house was speaking with police.
"Police are not seeking anybody else in relation to this incident, and there is not believed to be any risk to public safety."

A scene guard was in place and residents could expect to see an increased police presence in the area on Wednesday.
"Staff will also be conducting reassurance patrols in the coming days," Baillie said.
