Indian student dies in a fatal road accident

An Indian student, who is said to be in the country for six months is reported to have died in a car accident.

The accident took place at around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 14 when a car collided with a tourist bus on State Highway 6, near Devils Staircase, south of Queenstown.

The sole occupant of the car died in the collision.

The tourist bus carried 14 passengers and the driver who was uninjured in the accident. A statement was released the by bus company Southern Discoveries that said they are closely working with the police.

Media in the afternoon reported that the passengers of the bus were taken back to their accommodation in Queenstown as well as the staff and were provided with any support they may require.

Police closed the highway following the crash and were later opened just after 1 p.m.
