Breaking News: Indian grocery store now a location of interest

A popular Indian takeaway and grocery store in the suburb of Flatbush South Auckland is now a location interest.
As per the Health Ministry update, the exposure event occurred twice; first on Monday 23rd August 2021 between 2:00pm and 2:30pm and the second exposure event occurred on Sunday, the 29th August 2021 between 4:00pm and 4:30pm.
This store located at 2/345 Chapel Road, Flat Bush, Auckland 2016 and known as Spice Bazaar, Indian Takeaways and Groceries is a popular spot for our burgeoning Kiwi-Indian population of South Auckland.
The Health Ministry website further suggests that anyone at this location interest should stay at home, test immediately as well as 5 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. Please continue to stay at home until you receive a negative day 5 test result.
More information will be shared as we are investigating this further, hence keep visiting our Facebook page for all the latest news that matters to our Kiwi-Indian community.

For those who have been at a location of interest during the relevant time, it is likely you will need more than one test, so you must continue to isolate until you have spoken to Healthline. They will advise you and your household members on what you need to do. Advice is also in place for household contacts that are vaccinated health workers or managed isolation and quarantine workers.
Anyone in the Auckland health district that returns a positive COVID-19 test in the community will now be required to enter a managed isolation facility for 14 days.
To prevent further outbreak of COVID-19 in the community, there are a number of section 70 public health orders in place. Anyone who has visited a location of interest during the relevant time is required to follow the health instructions relevant to that location. Requirements for household contacts are in place for some locations (unless the contact is a vaccinated health worker or managed isolation and quarantine worker and they meet certain criteria). Call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for further advice.
If you have been contacted by the Auckland District Health Board, the Ministry of Health or a District Health Board Public Health Units, please follow their advice.
