Auckland International Cultural Festival calls for expressions of interest

Auckland Council is planning the 21st Auckland International Cultural Festival on Sunday 5 April 2020 at Mt Roskill War Memorial Park and is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential festival contributors.
This free multicultural festival celebrates Auckland’s rich diversity through cultural experiences, food, fun and arts.
“Our vision is for all Aucklanders to be proud of our multicultural city. We want the festival to enable Aucklanders to celebrate, share and experience the value and vibrancy of our multiculturalism,” says David Burt, Manager of Events for Auckland Council’s Arts, Community and Events team.
In 2019, this popular April festival brought delicious flavours, vibrant dance and music, knowledge displays and fun activities from more than 50 countries.
If you have something colourful, enriching and entertaining to bring and you meet the festival criteria, you are invited to apply using a simple 20-minute application process.
Event organiser Cara Cantwell has some tips. “This year we are encouraging intercultural performances, so consider getting together with another cultural group to share with each other your expressions of culture,” she says.
Food, arts and crafts or display/information stalls should apply here.
Performances activations and other forms of cultural expression can apply here.
Applications from stall-holders close at 5 pm on Sunday 6 January 2020. Performance groups have until 5 pm on Sunday 2 February 2020 to apply.
