SEVA Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Auckland Tamil Association (ATA), is set to launch the Seniors Coffee Club on October 9, 2025, at the Tamil Community Centre, 426 Hillsborough Road, Auckland 1041. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering a warm and welcoming space for older adults to connect, share, and find community support.

The Seniors Coffee Club aims to combat loneliness and social isolation among older adults by fostering friendships, encouraging meaningful conversations, and promoting overall mental well-being. Participants will enjoy coffee mornings, guest sessions, and social events, while also having access to advocacy and social service support.

“At SEVA Trust, we recognise the importance of culturally appropriate social services and community engagement for seniors,” said Mr Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi, General Manager of SEVA Trust. “We are already running a Positive Ageing Day programme in South Auckland, and this new initiative extends our support to seniors in Central Auckland as well.”

Echoing this sentiment, Mr Vai Ravindran, President of ATA, said, “We are very happy to collaborate with SEVA. The Seniors Coffee Club will be a place where older adults can come together, build friendships, and feel valued and supported.”

Mr Ranjay Sikka, Chairperson of SEVA Trust, added, “We invite seniors from the local community to join us and be part of this vibrant and supportive network. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of older adults and promote a sense of belonging and connection.”
