New Zealand has thrown its name into the ring to host what many are already calling "Pop’s next Royal Wedding." The country’s tourism board has extended an official invitation to global pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce, encouraging the newly engaged couple to tie the knot against the backdrop of Aotearoa’s stunning landscapes, reported the People.

The invitation came via an Instagram post on Friday, August 29, showcasing picturesque images of Fiordland’s snowcapped peaks, Wānaka’s rolling vineyards, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Erskine and Dublin Bay, and the enchanting Ohaupō TreeChurch, a chapel made entirely of living trees.

“This is our official petition for Pop’s next Royal Wedding to be hosted right here in Aotearoa, New Zealand,” the post read. “We think the Swifties would agree, it’s the perfect backdrop for a star-studded ‘I do.’ Are you ready for it?” People quoted.

The tourism board added a playful nod to Swift’s fanbase: “A huge congratulations to @taylorswift @killatrav, catch the bouquet ‘💐’ in the comments to manifest your dream wedding down under.”

Swift, 35, and Kelce, also 35, announced their engagement on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a joint Instagram post captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” The announcement was set to Swift’s track So High School from her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, a song long speculated to be inspired by Kelce, People quoted.

According to a report by People, the proposal featured a custom-designed ring by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery, boasting an Old Mine brilliant-cut stone. Swift showcased the ring in a series of photos that quickly went viral across social media.

Since sharing the news, the couple has already made their first public appearance together, attending the Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday. Kelce, a former Bearcats player, returned to familiar turf while fans cheered for the newly engaged duo, says People.

While Swift and Kelce have yet to respond to New Zealand’s lighthearted petition, Swifties around the world have flooded the comments with support, many agreeing that the country’s dramatic landscapes would make for a fairytale wedding setting, reported People.
