Ekta Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Telefilms, has released an alert warning newcomers of fake casting agents misusing its identity.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the production house identified two individuals allegedly running fake Instagram accounts under the handle pooja_castingdirector. They were reportedly claiming to be Assistant Casting Directors for Balaji Telefilms.
“Balaji Telefilms Limited hereby clarifies that Instagram account holders Vishal and Pooja, operating under the name pooja_castingdirector and claiming to hold the designation of ‘Assistant Casting Director’ with our organisation, have no affiliation whatsoever with Balaji Telefilms,” the statement said.
“We unequivocally disassociate ourselves from this individual and strongly condemn any attempt to misuse our company’s name or reputation to take undue advantage of aspiring actors.”
The company stressed that all legitimate casting is done only through its official, verified channels and urged newcomers to exercise caution.
“Your dream deserves safety. Don’t fall prey to fake casting calls. Always verify,” Balaji wrote in a social media post shared across its platforms.
Ekta Kapoor herself reshared the notice on Instagram, amplifying the warning to her millions of followers.
Meanwhile, Kapoor’s banner is also back in the spotlight for creative reasons. Her iconic soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi returned to television after 17 years, with original leads Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay reprising their roles.
The reboot, featuring both familiar and new faces, premiered on July 29 and airs at 10:30 pm on Star Plus, with streaming available on JioHotstar.
