The Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand (BJSM) marked this year’s Hartalika Teej with devotion and cultural splendour, as the newly formed Shakti Group made its debut at the Balmoral Community Centre.
The celebration, led by BJSM Treasurer Sujata Ji along with members of the Shakti Group, brought together women from the community in traditional attire to honour Goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva. The sacred Teej Katha Pujawas performed with reverence, symbolising love, prosperity, and togetherness.
The event created an atmosphere of spirituality and cultural pride, highlighting both the strength of womanhood and the bonds of community.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, the Consulate General of India in Auckland, Mr. Madan Mohan Sheti, and Mrs. Swagita Mohanti graced the gathering. Their presence underscored the importance of preserving and celebrating Indian traditions within the diaspora.
The BJSM Shakti Group’s debut was hailed as a meaningful step in strengthening cultural engagement and empowering women in the community.
