Ingredients for marination
500gm- boneless chicken ( cut into bite size chunks )
1tbsp- garlic paste
1tbsp- ginger paste
½ cup- plain yogurt
1tsp- red chilli powder
2tsp- garam masala powder
2tbsp- lemon juice
Salt to taste
2tbsp- Oil or butter
Method
In a bowl marinate chicken with all the above ingredients.
Cover and keep it aside for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Heat butter in a pan over a medium heat add marinated chicken to it.
Cover and cook stirring occasionally until tender. The marination is now complete.
Ingredients for masala ( gravy )
3- onions sliced
2-4- green chillies chopped
1tbsp- ginger paste
1tbsp- garlic paste
1tsp- red chilli powder
1/2tsp- turmeric powder
2tsp- coriander powder
1tsp- garam masala powder
1/2tsp- sugar
3-tomatoes chopped
200gm- tomato purée
1/2cup- plain yogurt
Salt to taste
2tbsp- oil
Method
Heat oil in a pan. Add sliced onion fry until light brown in colour, add green chillies stir and add ginger, garlic paste stir. Add all the powders, sugar, chopped tomatoes and tomato purée. Keep stirring while you add the things to the masala, add yogurt and keep on stirring until you see oil on top.
Take the pan off the gas, let it cool and make it into a paste in a food processor.
In the same pan add little oil and keep it on the medium heat. Add the masala paste to it and stir.
Add 1cup of water to make the gravy. Add the marinated chicken pieces cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve with chopped coriander on top.
