Penny Simmonds announced President of Hockey New Zealand

Penny Simmonds has been announced President of Hockey New Zealand. She had been working as the Vice-President of Hockey New Zealand since 2011.

Penny is also the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Institute of Technology (SIT), appointed in 1997. Prior to appointment as CEO, Penny was in a Management position at SIT from 1990 -1997. Penny is a Board member of New Zealand Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics, Venture Southland, Chairperson of Hockey Southland, and a board member of Southland disAbilities Services.

Penny is a former Director of the Southland Museum and Art Gallery and former member of the Southland District Health Board. Penny was a recipient of the Woolf Fisher Fellowship in 2000.

Penny is married with three daughters and farms in the Te Tipua District.
