Dhoni is world's highest earning cricketer

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IBNS): Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has been declared as the world's highest earning cricketer by Forbes magazine.

Dhoni topped the list of the world's highest earning cricketers compiled by the American magazine and is followed by Sachin Tendulkar.

Forbes stated that out of Dhoni's total earnings of USD 26.5 millions, USD 23 millions are from endorsements and the rest USD 3.5 millions are from playing cricket.

Tendulkar is listed second and his total earnings are USD 18.6 millions, out of which USD 16.5 millions are from endorsements and USD 2.1 millions are from cricket.

Other cricketers who feature in the Forbes' list are Gautam Gambhir (USD 7.3 millions), Virat Kohli (USD 7.1 millions), Virender Sehwag (USD 6.9 millions), Shane Watson (USD 5.9 millions), Michael Clarke (USD 4.9 millions), Brett Lee (USD 4.8 millions), Ricky Ponting (USD 4.1 millions) and Yusuf Pathan (USD 3.7 millions).
