Super Kings in Final with Mumbai Indians

Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Mumbai Indians (MI) in Sunday’s final after they defeated defending champions Deccan Chargers (DC) by 38 runs in the semi-final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Thursday night. 
 
The star of the day for Super Kings was Doug Bollinger, who picked up four for 13, and bowled out Deccan Chargers for 104 runs in 19.2 overs. Andrew Symonds (23) was the top scorer for the Hyderabad team.
 
Chennai Super Kings spinners also put on a great show as they tied down the batsmen at one end that allowed Man of the Match Bollinger to pick up the wickets at the D.Y. Sports Academy.
 
Chennai Super Kings, opting to bat first, struggled to get 142 runs for seven in 20 overs after Subramaniam Badrinath made patient 41-ball 37 and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni made 30.
 
Deccan Chargers faltered in their chase right from the start and lost wickets at regular intervals to some tight bowling of Super Kings.
 
Bollinger struck twice in the fifth over to remove Adam Gilchrist (18) and the inform Tirumalasetti Suman (4) in just five balls to trigger the collapse.
 
None of the Deccan Chargers batsmen, barring Andrew Symonds (23),  showed the application to stay put. Symonds was also tied down during his 20-ball stay and he managed just three fours.
 
Deccan Chargers lost the last three wickets on 103 and killed their chances to defend the title. Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Muttiah Muralitharan were miser and picked up one wicket each while Shadab Jakati was bagged 44 for two from his four overs.
