The second seminar on Property Enhancement was held at the Scout Hall, Blockhouse bay Community Centre on Monday, June 27.
There were 26 confirmed registrations for the seminar from all walks of life. The evening started off at 6.25pm with a brief presentation by Simon Blincoe from Resene, who talked about the different types of paint for different applications and the free colour consulting service at their Newmarket branch.
He also handed out a two-page brochure on the appropriate paint systems along with a box of chocolates. David Knight, a business coach and investment consultant introduced the audience to Lalit, the first speaker of the evening.
Lalit is a Mortgage/Insurance Consultant and the director of Green Line Financial Solutions. He has done his M.B.A. from Australia and his post graduation in financial planning.
He talked about a few basics of insurance and encouraged the audience to ask questions. To ensure all the facets of insurance are discussed, he invited Mike Tunai, a local bank manager, Anand Srinivasan, senior manager in an insurance company and BKSharma, a general insurance consultant to answer the queries.
After an intense hour of insurance related discussion, there was a 15 minute break with refreshments. David introduced the second speaker for the evening, Bobby and mentioned the kind of work that he has been involved with.
Bobby is a Professional member of ADNZ (Architectural Designers New Zealand) and is the director of Tarzan Design Ltd. He has a master of architecture degree from Auckland.
He is also a newspaper columnist on architectural topics and the founder of the Property Evaluation Programme with seven other industry experts. He started off with a short video on teamwork and followed it up with the 3 secrets that can make a property work harder and generate more income for its owner in today’s recovering economic scenario.
The seminar concluded with a brief question answer session followed by a networking dinner. Interior designer Ann Foster, landscape consultant and supplier Peter Bolam, members of the Alliance group providing their expertise to the community were introduced to the audience.
We also had Krishna Datt from “e-property stop” – an online portal for buying and selling of properties – explain how people could take advantage of his services. It has been a great response with five free consultation vouchers being issued at the end.
The dinner was sponsored by Habitat Builders whose past award winning works were on display in the seminar room. Greenline financial solutions and Tarzan design limited covered the expenses to keep this educational seminar completely free of cost for the community.
There has been a positive feedback about this seminar series. We intend having future seminars to covers diverse topics like renovations, interior designing, landscape design, shop refurbishments, selection of the right consultant etc.
We plan to have the next seminar in South Auckland. If you would like to be contacted in this regard or know someone who might be interested please let us know.
