After the huge success of Kaun Banega Superstar 2009 (Season 2), Dreamz Productions proudly announces Season 3 of New Zealand’s popular and the biggest Indian singing challenge.

Auditions are on again for the singing bonanza, which promises to be a fun filled entertaining TV show combining a masala of great music and eager contestants.

This year again, the NCBT Kaun Banega Superstar  will be a launching pad for many wannabe and trained singers who can sure see themselves on the big screen and win some prizes.

As in previous years, NCBT and Dreamz Productions will again surprise the winning Superstar with an awesome prize to cherish.

“It’s not just about producing a locally-made product to expand our repertoire,” Dreamz executive Dr Rachel Singh said.

“For Dreamz, we have a vision that goes far beyond simply providing a singing competition. We have a genuine desire combined with a golden opportunity to bring a community together. NCBT Kaun Banega Superstar is nothing short of an ambitious community outreach programme that will provide a forum for community interaction.”

Dr Singh said community interaction was an essential component of any healthy society and by producing this show, Dreamz gives the local community a focal point to rally around.

“We provide the potential for people within that community to come to the forefront, armed with only their singing talent. It is our belief that when a community sees that some of their own can ‘make it’, they rally around them and give support.

“They do that because those people provide an inspiration for them. And for a community, inspiration can be a powerful force for bringing them together and helping to either form or cement an identity for themselves. And having established that, the community can and will have more confidence in itself to forge new pathways.

“Our last season of Kaun Banega Superstar has succeeded by bringing two groups together. With the combination of older songs, it brings in the parents and older viewers, but the young contestants on the shows have enticed the younger viewers to make such shows extremely popular with families.

“These are one of the few shows that can successfully bridge the generation gap. With NCBT Kaun Banega Superstar, we aim to bridge together not only the young and older population of the Indian community, but also to help preserve the rich heritage and song-tradition that has always been an integral part of Indian culture.

“Being a long way from India, we hope that our show will provide a much-needed and entertaining slice-of-home for all New Zealand Indians, from those who are recent arrivals to those who have been here many generations.”

Dr Singh said NCBT Kaun Banega Superstar would provide stability for the Indian community in New Zealand to rally around and indulge in a piece of home.

The show is open to anyone who can sing in Hindi and Bollywood Indian songs will be the range on which they will be judged on.

“Once we get into the semi-finals, the show will involve viewer-voting where the audience at home will have an important say. The contestants will be competing for fantastic prizes as always.”

Auditions for NCBT Kaun Banega Superstar commence from May 2010 and the show will run weekly until the Grand Finale.

So, if you think you’ve got what it takes to rock the house like Shankar, Shan, Sonu Nigam or light up the stage like Shreya Ghosal or Sunidhi Chauhan then we want to hear from you.
