Jannah Road Op Shop located on Stoddard Road, Mt Roskill has been serving the community for the last four years and provided help to the needy members of the community with every assistance possible.
The Islamic Op-shop sells different clothing and prayer items and the amount raised is further donated to a charitable cause in the community.
“Jannah Road Charity now in its fourth year and it continues to serve our local community with a passionate focus on those in need especially families with children, poverty, and helping refugees,” Yousuf Moorad, Chairman of Jannah Road Charity Trust told The Indian Weekender.
The Op shop located at 164E Stoddard Rd, Mt Roskill, just next to Khyber grocery store and a 100 steps ahead and opposite of Masjid-e-Umar serves as a prime place selling new and second-hand clothing such as scarves, abayas, Men's and children, attar, kitchen and housewares etc.
“We run regular kids competitions. The latest competition focused on Ramadan with a drawing competition for the children aged eight and ten, choosing and explaining a Hadith for the age 11 to 13, and creating a Nasheed about Ramadan for the age 14 and 16.
The winning prizes included a typically family focused with trips to the zoo, theme park Rainbows End and gifts such as Apple iPads.
In 2017, Jannah Road Charity Trust launched the Temporary Accommodation Project (TAP - aimed to help those in dire need of temporary accommodation relief such as women with children, new immigrants and refugees.
“We need to reach at least $20,000 to make this project a reality, currently we have $3,400 saved. The Trust has also created a Givealittle page for TAP and appealed community to contribute for a good cause.

“We have continued to work hard for our Hajj sponsorship and family camping projects and have made good progress in this area. We regularly do food runs, free clothing and financial support with limited resources,” Mr Moorad said.
