The Trustees of the Papakura Ganesh Temple have announced that the construction works for a community hall at the temple are well under way. The hall, when complete, will serve as a wedding venue with cooking facilities, as well as for community gatherings, religious and social activities and for meditation and yoga classes.

The Trustees have made an appeal, the first of its kind since its inception, to the devotees and the members of the public to support this venture. They are appealing for all cash donations however small or a $30.00 monthly donation from March 2010 to February 2011 or for a further period beyond 2011.

This will assist toward the payment of the bank loan they hope to raise to complete the construction of the hall, the trustees said.

Donors of $30.00 per month will have their names displayed at the temple for the entire period from March to Feb 2011, in appreciation. Donors of $2,000.00 or more will have their names displayed permanently on a board in the new hall. Those who do not wish to have their names displayed will be listed anonymous donors.

The temple trustees urge those who wish to make donations, to do it through automatic deductions or through direct credit to the Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple Trust account number 12-3072-0432949-00 with ASB Bank, Glenfield.

Any queries may be directed to the temple priests or phone 09-2988640, or the Temple Chairperson, Ray Annamalai at 09 4436992.
