Indian Christian Life Centre (ICLC), a community-based organisation in Auckland hosted an event to involve the youth of the city to come together and share an evening of fun and learning.

Youth Revival was celebrated on Sunday, July 30 at ICLC auditorium located at East Tamaki in Auckland. The event was organised by the young community members irrespective of their religious beliefs, faith and from all walks of life.

The programme aims to become an annual event in the youth calendar hosted 200 young members of the community, organised by them and for them.

The event is designed to help steer and lead youth and young adults into their calling, their passion through a journey of self-discovery and asking the right questions.

“We want our youth to find their God-given purpose, our goal is to help them make the right decisions and keep them on the pathway to fulfilling their full potential,” says a member of the community and organiser of the Youth Revival event.

Some activities allowed the audience to participate in challenges such as chicken wings eating competition, mouth-guard challenge, etc. The event also included dance performances, a spoken word and praise and worship. All the performances were given by local students under the age of 18 who had the chance to showcase their talents.

“Kids aren’t just kids, and teenagers aren’t just teenagers. We are creating a movement. We are raising world-changers. We refuse to settle for a mediocre life when we are able to achieve so much more. The way to do so is through our young people, our sons and our daughters,” head of ICLC Pastor Moses said.

“Youth Revival allowed a safe and supportive environment for young people from all backgrounds to connect with us and more importantly, each other and become inspired to do more and be more,” he added.

The event was focused on the creativity and talent of the youth which was expressed through art, music, dance and engaging young people to look at the better side of life.

Victoria Medina and Anton Pulefale, part of the Notorious Dance Company, Avneil Mohan and Nabeel Hussain, and Esther Gounder from Hillsong Church in Sydney were invited as guests for the event.
