Anamika Nampoothiry, a student of engineering at Weltec (Wellington Institute of Technology) was bestowed with the International Students Excellence awards by Deputy Prime Minister Bill English on Friday 21 October.
This award is recognition of best all round performance of international students in the institution and this year Anamika was one of 12 students to receive the award.
Anamika is studying Bachelors in Engineering from Weltec with her focus in water and water waste management.
A total of 90 entries were received by the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA), the apex body that makes the judgment on the award, from various age-groups ranging from primary school to postgraduates.
The panel has decided on 12 winners among different categories.
Anamika has excelled in academics and knowledge of Indian arts and culture.
