A show with a difference is set to kick off one community group’s fundraising initiatives in the New Year.
A hypnotist will be the star attraction at the New Zealand-Fiji Community Support and Projects Trust next venture on January 16 in Auckland.
To be held at the Mangere War Memorial Hall at 23 Domain Rd, Mangere Bridge, the fundraising dinner and dance show is in aid of the trust’s Funeral Home Project.
The trust is in the process of setting up its own funeral home and funds raised will help towards the worthy project, trust founder Sam Achary told the Indian Weekender.
The aim is to provide cheaper, if not, free funeral services to members of the community.
A rest home is also in the pipeline.
Achary has been at the forefront of the funeral home project for more than a year, which has seen the formation of the trust and several successful fundraising initiatives which have formed the base of the venture.
Achary said the evening promised a night of grand entertainment with 20 different dishes of food served at the gathering. This includes the traditional Fijian lovo.
And the hypnotism show by well known New Zealand hypnotist Ian Blaine promises to be a thriller.
Show starts at 6.45pm, be seated by 6.30pm. Tickets $25 available from Sam Achary on 6340437 or 021 395 723. Bar services also available.
