Over 160 people of various faiths wholeheartedly participated in an Interfaith Service that was held at Papatoetoe Town Hall on Saturday, November 14 by the Auckland Interfaith Council, a voluntary non-profit association.

Participating communities included followers of several religions and denominations including Hindu, Bahai, Sikh, Muslim, Catholic, Buddhist, Jewish, Universal Peace Foundation and Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints, among others.

The president of the Interfaith Council Suzanne Mahon and other executive members Terry Ball, Sister Pat Leamy, Ruth, Hussaini Ambawala, member of parliament Kanwaljit S Bakshi welcomed all to the service.

The Council applauded Nimi Bedi, the Community Advisor at Manukau City Council  and Terry Ball the master of ceremonies for the event for having made the day a success and an enriching experience.

All participating faith communities presented their musical items and chants. This was a good opportunity for different faiths to come under a single roof. The speakers spoke on the theme Faith & Family.
